Hi, I'm Melissa founder of Tring Pamper Party!

I am qualified in all things make up and nails,  however  for a while there I worked in the legal sector, I know...bit of a change of career!

I lived in Sydney Australia at the time, where I also gained extra qualifications in nail acrylics, gels and eyelash extensions (perhaps I always knew that I would come back to my first passion!) We moved back to blighty in 2015  the year after I had my son, and I took a part time role in a local cafe. It gave me a good balance and a good opportunity to get to know the locals in this new town we were calling home! Soon after starting work there I set up Pamper and High Tea parties for children and they were a great success. However when Covid 19 hit, the cafe closed and never reopened. I thought that was the end of my pamper parties, but then I was asked to host a party at someone's home, and as the lockdowns began to ease, I realised that I could run my parties as a mobile service.

So Tring Pamper Party was born.

At these parties however, I began to recognise the pressures on our young as we emerged from the lockdowns, alongside all that the modern age brings, and as we know, its not always positive messages. It left me thinking how tough it must be to be a tween these days and wondering what I could do to try and make a difference.

So,  I read literature, scoured the internet, attended webinars, and connected with specialists in the area to seek advice, as well as drawing on my own life experiences. I wanted to keep my parties fun and to try to subtly weave positive messages through the couple of hours I had the guests' attention...

... I just wasn't sure how. 

I knew that friendship was at the heart of what I wanted to promote, especially after the children had been so isolated, with schools being closed, and I wanted them to feel part of something, a collective, and for them to see their uniqueness as a superpower!

So I came up with the idea of them having their own 'movement'.

I called this 'The Sparkle Party'.

Immediately I got to work writing 'The Sparkle Oath' which each child can take at the end of every party. It is a promise to believe in themselves and to celebrate their differences, while not believing everything they see on the screen. I also began incorporating  games like the blindfolded lipstick game, which focuses on how they feel and not how they look, and Catch the Compliment - my take on pass the parcel.  I could immediately see just how much they enjoyed it and the feedback I received from parents was also really positive. It got me wondering what more I could do...

...and now I know!

I'm going to start a Sparkle Revolution!
